Weekly Tip 49

Set Page File Size and Disable Hibernation from Group Policy

You can configure the size of your page file by using Group Policy to insert the following reg key:

The full key path is “SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management”.

You can disable the hibernate by configuring these two registry keys from Group Policy. You may want to disable hibernation to reclaim the disk space that the hiberfil.sys file uses.

Both of these changes will not take effect until your next reboot.
